Graham V Weinberg was educated at the University of Melbourne, Australia, where he studied mathematical analysis and probability theory. After completing a joint Honours degree in these fields, he undertook a PhD in stochastic processes and applied probability. Completing his PhD in 1999 he subsequently moved to Adelaide, where he undertook a fellowship at the University of Adelaide. This was followed by employment at DSTO (now DST Group), where he has spent his entire time examining radar detection issues for maritime surveillance radar. During 2007-2010 an MSc was completed, through the University of Adelaide, to strengthen his knowledge base in signal processing. Since then he has published extensively in the areas of non-coherent and coherent radar detection, constant false alarm rate detection processes as well as applications of his thesis work to convergence and approximation problems in radar signal processing. Since late 2015 he has served on the editorial board of IET Electronics Letters as an Associate Editor and reviews papers for a large number of journals. During 2016 he wrote a book (Radar Detection Theory of Sliding Window Processes, CRC Press 2017) documenting his research in the area of non-coherent CFAR. http://orcid.org/0000-0001-7951-9849

Radar has been an important topic since its introduction, in a military context, during World War II. Due to advances in technology, it has been necessary to refine the algorithms employed within the signal processing architecture. Hence, this book provides a series of chapters examining some topics in modern radar signal processing. These include synthetic aperture radar, multiple-input multiple-output radar, as well as a series of chapters examining other key issues relevant to the central theme of the book.
