New Book "Towards Malaria Elimination - A Leap Forward" Published Today

18 July 2018

Following the success of  “Anopheles mosquitoes - New insights into malaria vectors", our book with the fastest growing citation rate, today we are happy to publish a new book focused on the important topic of Malaria, titled: "Towards Malaria Elimination - A leap forward".

Edited by Sylvie Manguin, leading medical entomologist and researcher from the University of Montpellier and Vas Dev who recently retired from India's National Institute of Malaria Research, this book presents a small but important step forward in our knowledge about malaria.

"Towards Malaria Elimination - A leap forward" was started to mark the occasion for renewed commitment to end malaria transmission for good (WHO's call for “Malaria Free World” by 2030) and for benefit of researchers, scientists, program and policy managers, students and anyone interested in malaria and mosquito-borne diseases, with the goal of sharing recent information on success stories, innovative control approaches and challenges in different regions of the world. To achieve this goal, potential contributors have been selected on the subject in their area of expertise for giving updated information on parasites and vectors to formulate intervention strategies. The book puts together breakthrough information and current lines of investigations on this very important topic encouraging research on emerging issues and strengthening interventions for blanket coverage making “malaria history".

Important ideas from this book have also been highlighted on SciDev, the world’s leading source of authoritative science and technology news in a form of Q&A with Sylvie Manguin, Academic Editor.
