IntechOpen announces its membership of ORCID

IntechOpen is now a member of ORCID, an independent not-profit group, built by the community to increase transparency in the research process. ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID. Researchers register for an ORCID iD and the organisation assigns a unique persistent digital signature to link all of their publications, affiliations, name variations, and other relevant information to their ORCID record. It creates a permanent, unambiguous record enabling reliable attribution of authors and contributors. ORCID metadata will be integrated into all IntechOpen systems and trusted metadata will be added to its researchers’ or users’ ORCID records.

IntechOpen Journals have implemented ORCID on its article submission and peer review platform - ReView from River Valley Technologies to increase the efficiency of the workflow and improve the integrity of submission, review, and discovery processes with reliable author and reviewer information. Through the River Valley platform, IntechOpen will also give credit to reviewers and allow reviewers who use the platform to update their ORCID records automatically with their reviews.
