About the book

In these special circumstances, where interdisciplinary interaction between surgeons from various countries is limited due to the ongoing Corona pandemic, our book will aim to give a "state of the art" in the surgical management of brachial plexus lesions in different countries all over the world. Major achievements in imagery (ultrasound and MRI "neurography" of peripheral nerves) and surgical techniques (focusing especially on nerve transfers and the contralateral C7 root contribution to the negotiation) and future directions are presented by skilled colleagues who regularly deal with these lesions in children and adults.

The main focus will be on clinical assessment and surgery, but the dialogue with basic researchers working in the fields of peripheral nerve regeneration, nerve-muscle interaction, nerve and muscle tissue engineering, bio-artificial nerve grafts, bionic prostheses, and orthoses is also addressed. Thereby, this book will be aimed to reach beyond the level of "just another book on brachial plexus surgery".
