About the book

Matlab and Simulink are computing software for engineers and scientists from many areas of interest. They started as modeling and simulation programs for control systems and now they have technological applications in engineering, finance, medicine and others.

The book aims to address specialists who have applications and solutions in various fields, solved using Matlab programs and technology and wants to share their knowledge. New examples of Matlab code, Simulink examples and application on their technological developing platforms are intended to be promoted in this book. Books may be the subject of applications from various industry branches, such as aerospace, automotive, biology, chemicals, electronics, power systems, financial system, medicine, oil and gas, railway systems and others. These applications may include domains as embedded systems, control systems, digital signal processing, wireless communications, image processing and computer vision, mechatronics, finance and risk management, robotics, deep learning, power electronics and others. The examples to be published may emphasize the capabilities of Matlab programming in the field of data acquisition, mathematical modeling, algorithm developing, parallel computing, machine learning, cloud computing, discrete events, code generation, prototyping with dSpace, real-time simulation and testing and 3D animation.

Review results due: February 2nd 2021

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: April 3rd 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Constantin Volosencu is a professor at the “Politehnica” University of Timisoara, Department of Automation. He is the author of 10 books and five book chapters, the editor of nine books, the author of over 150 scientific papers published in journals and conference proceedings, the author of 27 patents, and a manager of research grants. He is a member of editorial boards of international journals, a former plenary speaker, a member of scientific committees, and chair at international conferences. He research is in the fields of control systems, electrical drives, power ultrasounds, fuzzy logic, neural networks, fault detection and diagnosis, sensor networks, and distributed parameter systems. He has developed electrical equipment for machine tools, spooling machines, high-power ultrasound processes and others.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Dolores Kuzelj

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
