About the book

The advent and widespread application of computation intelligence specifically Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep learning, Data Mining, Data Analytics in recent years have witnessed a dramatic increase of interest in sophisticated and optimized searching and data matching problems, especially in information retrieval and computational biology.

This book explores how we search for resources in our minds and in the world optimally and discussed the recent advancement and applications of Quantum Search, Harmony Search, Cognitive Search, Genetic Search, Combinatorial Search, and Parallel Random Search Algorithms in solving tough optimization difficulties that arise in advanced cross-domain engineering technologies.

This book presents state-of-the-art technical contributions based around one of the most sought after the domain of searching algorithms which find application in almost every domain: be it Computation intelligence, medicine, e-Commerce, and another plethora of interdisciplinary domain applications.

It consists of a selection of the best contributions from researchers, academicians, and experts on search optimization, those who present their latest findings, and discuss the past, present, and future of this exciting field.

An attempt has been made to provide a useful reference resource for practicing researchers working on evolutionary computation, bio-inspired optimization. It will also serve as a valuable resource and a solid technical base for frontline investigations around varied search algorithms for scientists and students who are interested in search and optimization methods. This book is self-contained and may be used independently.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Josip Knapic

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copy-editing and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
