Webinar:

Emerging Technologies

Partnering for Accessibility, Discoverability and Sustainable Future

The development of new and emerging technologies presents significant opportunity for achieving the SDGs. The deployment of these technologies and innovations can leave lasting impact on societies, environment, and daily lives. This is why all actors in the scholarly ecosystem, as part of the SDG Goal 17-Partnerships for the Goals, should carefully consider their role and address not only the technological benefits but also the responsible and ethical considerations of using such technologies and enabling access to the latest science, technology and innovations.

The webinar offers an opportunity to hear about a hands-on case study in the field of emerging technologies in energy engineering and sustainability, with a specific focus on the goals behind that research. It also concentrates on technologies aimed at benefiting developing countries through free and unrestricted access to knowledge under the Open Access model. The showcase demonstrates how various platforms and their technologies can accelerate the discovery of knowledge, particularly in developing regions.

An essential aspect highlighted in all presentations is the call for responsible research and integrity throughout the entire research process — from the initial idea to publishing and responsible reuse. This emphasises the commitment to ethical practices in scholarly endeavours.
