Dariusz Borys

Dariusz Borys is a Professor of Pathology and Orthopedic Surgery, the Head of Orthopedic and Pediatric Pathology and Director of Digital Pathology at Loyola University Chicago. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wroclaw, Poland in 1994 and completed his Residency in Anatomic Pathology at the County General Hospital in Wroclaw, Poland in 1995. He performed Postdoctoral research at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ in 1998 and then continued his Residency training in both Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology at University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. After completing Fellowships in Pediatric Pathology (2005) and Orthopedic Pathology (2006) at New York University, he became a Faculty Member in the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of California. In 2013, he moved to Loyola University Chicago, where he has achieved positions as Professor of Pathology and Orthopedic Surgery, Head of Orthopedic and Pediatric Pathology, and Director of Digital Pathology. Currently his research focuses on the molecular markers in diagnostic, prognostic and targeted therapy of osteosarcoma. Dr. Borys was recognized as a Top Cancer Doctor of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology in the Chicago Metro Area in 2019 by Chicago Magazine
