Maria De Lourdes Pereira

Maria de Lourdes Pereira is Associate Professor with Habilitation since 2003 at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. She obtained her doctorate in Biology in 1991 from the University of Aveiro and graduated in Biology from the University of Lisbon (1982). She published over 80 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and over 23 book chapters. She organized multiple national and international scientific meetings. She supervised 7 PhD students and co-supervised 5. She also supervised about 79 Master theses and co-supervised 63. She supervised multiple end-of degree dissertations and works and was awarded 2 prizes. She participates/ed as principal investigator in several funded projects and is/was a participant researcher in many others. Her tenure responsibilities are focused in the field of Biomedical Sciences with emphasis in pesticides, biomaterials and nanoparticles. Recently, she has become a member of the International Research Networks (Southeast Asia Water-based research under Southeast Asia Water Team and the World Union for Herbal Drug Discovery).
