Edmilson Correa
Dr. Edmilson Correa is Associate Professor of Materials Science and Welding at the Itajuba Federal University Mechanical Engineering Department. He received his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at PUC University, Brazil in 1993 and his Doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering at Federal University of Sao Carlos – Sao Paulo, in 2005. From 2003 to 2005 he was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy of the University of Cambridge – United Kingdom. His main research fields are on the development of hardfacing alloys and hardmetals resistant to wear and on the study of corrosion behavior of similar and dissimilar weldments and metallic alloys. He was awarded by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) - USA in 2010 for his outstanding technical-scientific work concerning to the development of new Hardmetals without cobalt.
