Giray Kartopu

University of Nottingham United Kingdom

Giray Kartopu obtained his PhD degree from the De Montfort University, Leicester, UK in 2003. His initial work focused on synthesis and optical properties of group IV quantum dots (QDs). He then served several postdoctoral research associate positions at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel in Germany (2004-2008), The University of Nottingham (2008-2010) and Glyndwr University (2010-present) in the UK. He was involved in the fabrication and application of functional nano-materials and thin films. His research experience/interests include nanowire (NW) synthesis by template fabrication, plasmonic/magnetic properties of metal NW arrays, Raman/SERS spectroscopy, and more recently thin film photovoltaics. He has published about 25 papers and 1 book chapter.
