1985 - 1990: Civil Engineering Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). Diploma in Civil Engineering (June 1990) with Grade 8.35 of 10. 02.10.1990: Professional license as a civil engineer from the Technical Chamber of Greece 1990 - 1994: Doctoral dissertation, in the field of seismic design of structures, static & dynamic response of multistory spatial asymmetric buildings, at the laboratory of Applied Statics and Dynamics of the Civil Engineering Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Doctor of Civil Engineering on January 31, 1995. 1990 - 1995: Consultant Civil Engineer. Design and construction management of public and private Civil Engineering works, with emphasis on works of special nature (bridges, hospitals, factories). 1995-1998: Assistant Professor, part time, of Technological Education Institute (T.E.I.) of Serres (for three years) of Greece. 1997-2001: Assistant Professor, full time, of Department of Civil Engineer of University of Thessaly (for four and half years) of Greece. 2001-2003: Government Officer of Direction of Public Works of Region of Thessaly of Greece 2003 - today: Senior Researcher in Hellenic Ιnstitute of Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (ITSAK). RESEARCH FIELDS OF INTEREST Earthquake Engineering with emphasis on analytically methods for dynamic response of structures, elements of structures for seismic actions. In more detail : - Advanced methods for seismic design and assessment of seismic capacity of existing structures (Seismic nonlinear inelastic response history analysis of reinforced concrete systems, nonlinear static analysis of reinforced concrete systems, performance – based seismic design, displacement-based seismic design etc). - Development of appropriate methodologies for the evaluation of the seismic capacity of the building stock in Greece. - Seismic hazard and risk studies of various structures of great importance - Instrumentation of civil engineering structures (buildings, bridges, dams) and investigation of their seismic behaviour : * Methodologies for the evaluation of the dynamic (modal) characteristics from the recorded response (system identification techniques). * Methodologies for the assessment of the structural condition and seismic capacity of instrumented structures, based on recorded data (health monitoring). * Methodologies for analytical model updating using vibration measurements.
