I identified several tumor suppressor candidates including EGR2, PINK1, and BPOZ when I was a graduate student in the University of Tokyo (Unoki et al., Oncogene, 2001, 2003), and identified UHRF1 as a novel methyl-CpG binding protein when I was a post doc in the University of Tokyo (Unoki et al., Oncogene, 2004). Then I worked on ING family splice variants when I was in NCI, NIH, Bethesda, MD, US (Unoki et al., JBC, 2006). Currently, my interest is to understand molecular pathogenesis of ICF syndrome (Unoki et al., JCI, 2019).
