Rohanie Maharaj

Rohanie Maharaj is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Natural Sciences (B.Sc. Hons.) and Food Technology (M.Sc. & M. Phil). She holds a Ph.D. degree in Food Science and Technology specializing in Food Processing/Postharvest Technology from the Université Laval in Québec, Canada. She is a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and a Professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) as well as a board member of the Caribbean Food Crops Society (CFCS). At the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), she has been employed as an Associate Professor and Programme Leader of the Food Technology programmes in the Biosciences, Agriculture and Food Technologies (BAFT) unit since April 2009. She currently serves in the capacity of Vice-Provost Undergraduate Studies and Chair of the Board for Undergraduate Studies (BUS), while maintaining her leadership of the Food Science and Technology programmes.
