Valeria Cecilia Denninghoff

Dr. Valeria Denninghoff founded in 1999 the first laboratory of Molecular Pathology in Argentina and co-founded 2008 the Tumour Bank. She remained Head of the Section for more than 20 years at the Centre for Medical Education and Clinical Research. Dr. Denninghoff obtained a 2006 Ph.D. degree from University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is a Specialist in Clinical Precision Medicine in melanoma, colon, lung, and pancreatic cancer, from a deep approach in NGS techniques for ctDNA and CTC. She has completed her training with Drs. Wistuba at MD Anderson in Texas, Soares at AC Camargo Hospital in Sao Paulo, and Liderau at the Rene Huguenin Centre in Paris. She currently collaborates in Liquid Biopsy with Drs. Rolfo at Mount Sinai in New York, Serrano at GENYO in Granada, and Padillo-Ruiz at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Sevilla. Dr. Denninghoff holds several key positions that underscore her expertise and commitment to advancing the field of molecular pathology. She is the Director of the Molecular Clinical Laboratory of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) - National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) - Ministry of Health, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her membership in the Scientific and Technological Researcher Career of CONICET since 2009 and the Liquid Biopsy and Cancer Interception Group in the Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research - Pfizer - University of Granada - Andalusian Regional Government (GENyO), Granada (Andalucía), Spain since 2021 further solidify her standing in the field. Dr. Denninghoff's dedication to her field is evident in her active participation in various professional organizations and committees. She serves on the Membership Committee of the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB) and on the Molecular Working Group of the Pathology Committee of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). She is a Co-Founding Member of the Ibero-American Association of Molecular Pathology, a part of the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP). Her role on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Liquid Biopsy further demonstrates her commitment to advancing the field through research and knowledge dissemination.
