Guang Yang is a professor of College of Life Sci & Tech, Huazhong University of Sci & Tech. She received her Bs and PhD degree in Polymer Science from Wuhan University in 1989, and 2000 respectively. She was a visiting scholar in Fundamental Research Laboratory of Natural and Synthetic Polymers, Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Japan (1995-1996). She visited Johannes Gutenberg-Universitaet Mainz Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow (2002-2004) and then Kyushu University in Japan as a JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) fellow (2004-2006). In the past ten years, she has been in charge of or engaged in more than 20 projects, including major grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, â€œ863â€ National project, a National Economic and Trade Commission project, â€œPrograms for Elite & Young Teachersâ€ supported by Ministry of Education etc. She was awarded â€œPrize for Youth Chemistâ€ by CCS (Chinese Chemical Society), 2nd prize of â€œNatural Science Prizeâ€ by Ministry of Education, â€œExcellent Doctoral Dissertation Prize of Natural Science in Hubei Provinceâ€, etc. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers which have been cited for more than 300 times, and approved 5 items of authorized patents. Her current research interest focuses on Biochemical engineering, Bionic nano-composite, Polymer physics & chemistry, involving in study on nano-assembly of ordered eco-friendly materials and their structures & properties, proceeding control and optimization of bio-refining, design and fabrication of novel nano-drug transporter, tissue engineering scaffold materials for biomedical applications, etc.
