Amit Bhardwaj

India Meteorological Department

Dr. Amit Bhardwaj has worked on a wide variety of topics that include examining the variations of the Indian monsoon, using high-resolution climate models, studying coupled ocean-atmosphere interactions, and monitoring the Indian monsoon. His list of publications easily reflects a range of topics. Amit, over the years, has gained tremendous experience and expertise in this model. He has extensive knowledge of the variability of the monsoons that will again be quite useful and relevant to the Atmospheric Science program. There he had the privilege to work on the tropical cyclones and their numerical weather prediction. His Ph.D. dissertation that was completed while he was working with Prof. Krishnamurti revolved around improving the intensity prediction of Atlantic tropical cyclones and Improving the Indian summer monsoon forecast using a suite of mesoscale models.
