Azza Abdel Fatah Hassan Rajab is a microbiologist with a pharmaceutical background, a BSc in Pharmacy, and an MSc in Microbiology and Immunology. She is an active biotechnology researcher and a Ph.D. candidate. She began her early career as a clinical pharmacist for many years in both public and private institutions. Then, she decided to pursue her passion for science and research; she is particularly interested in competing bacterial resistance as an approach to fight the globally increasing crisis of antimicrobial resistance. Her masterwork was based on bacterial virulence detection and her team achieved promising results regarding bacterial biofilm and toxin inhibition both in vitro and in vivo. Her doctoral studies are directed to explore bacteriophage biology and its applications in the eradication of multi-drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria.
