Dr. M.A. Serrano Meneses is graduated with a degree in Biology from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, Mexico in 2002. He obtained a Ph.D. in Evolution and Mathematical Biology at the University of Bath, UK, in 2006. In 2007, he began a post-doctoral stay at the Instituto de Ecología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). In 2009 he joined the Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala, Mexico as a full-time lecturer, where he worked until 2017 when he started working as a full-time lecturer at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP), Mexico. Dr. Meneses has been a titular subject professor at the University of Bath, Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala, and UDLAP, and a member of the National System of Researchers since 2008. His research interests include evolutionary biology, particularly the evolution of sexual dimorphism and alternative reproductive tactics of birds and insects (dragonflies and damselflies). He uses phylogenetic comparative methods, field observations, and laboratory experiments in his studies. He maintains direct research collaborations with the University of Bath, University of Graz, Austria, and UNAM.
