Dr. Masood Iqbal Awan has a background in crop physiology and agronomy. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), Pakistan. He obtained a BSc (2005) and MSc (2007) from UAF in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He obtained a Ph.D. from Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 2013. During 2015–2017, he was appointed as a university associate in the School of Land and Food, Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), University of Tasmania (UTAS), Australia. His research focuses on cropping systems, specifically understanding how different elements (plants, soils, and people) interact and how to improve robustness, productivity, and sustainability for desirable outcomes. He has published papers in disciplinary and transdisciplinary journals. His key research interests include stress physiology, resource use efficiency, alternate production systems/crops, and eco-efficient cropping systems.
