Dr. Anh Thu Phan is a lecturer at Vietnam National University (VNU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam. She finished her undergraduate education as a salutatorian and was in the top 10 students of her Faculty in the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU, Vietnam. Before enrolling in the Master's program at the Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, in September 2012 with a full academic scholarship, she spent two years working at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – VNU as an assistant lecturer. She got a Master’s degree in 2014 from Nagaoka University of Technology. There, she studied rice growth monitoring using laser scanning techniques and obtained a Ph.D. degree at the same University in 2017. Since then she has been a full-time lecturer at the Department of Geomatics Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam. Her research focuses on the application of low-cost laser scanners and closed-range photogrammetry.
