EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, USA Postdoctoral research fellow (Oct, 2019-present) Trained in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics, advised by Prof. Aseem Z. Ansari • Project: 'Identification of novel kinases for ‘orphan residues’ on RNA Pol II CTD and functional characterization of these novel kinases in writing CTD code”. Identified an array of kinases belonging to different families and determined their roles in regulating signal responsive gene expression. • Project 2: Regulatory subunit of the cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase reads the RNAP II CTD code and mediates gene regulation. Identified RNA PolII pThr4CTD function as an ACAP for regulating stress responsive genes. • Project 3: Regulating immune response by synthetically licensing transcription of AIRE (autoimmune regulator) target genes using small molecule. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India Ph.D. (2014-2020) Trained in yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and biophysical techniques, advised by Prof. Nimisha Sharma (GGSIPU), co-supervised by Prof. Samudrala Gourinath (JNU) • Project: 'Functional and Structural analysis of Schizosaccharomyces pombe EAF protein”. • Investigated and identified novel functions of EAF in S. pombe, including essential role in yeast growth and stress response under DNA damaging conditions, cell separation. Mapped the domains in EAF protein responsible for various functions in fission yeast. First time reported EAF family in different species as intrinsically disordered. • Collaborated on multiple projects with other members in the lab and identifiesd the role of ELL (an interacting partner of EAF) in normal growth and stress response. • Trained B.tech and M.tech student rotating in lab. Identified and characterized novel EAF family of proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana. Published this work in IUBMB Life. • Attended and presented work in several international conferences. Indian Institute of Advanced Research, India Junior Research Fellow (2012-2013) • Project: Role of sirtuins in Alzheimer’s disease physiology • Created mutant flies with genetic manipulation in sirtuin proteins • Learned Drosophila melanogaster brain dissection Institute of Biomedical Technology, Finland Reseracher (2011-2012) • Field: Mitochondrial gerontology • Used Drosophila melanogaster as model system. • Carried out life span analysis, feeding assays, real-time qPCR and Western blots to study the effect of alteration of NAD+: NADH ratio on Drosophila melanogaster physiology. University of Hyderabad, India M.Sc. Biotechnology (2009-2011), CGPA:9.95/10 • Dissertation 'Expression, purification and evaluation of insecticidal property of chimeric Cry EC”. Supervisor: Prof. Aparna Dutta Gupta, University of Hyderabad, Telangana • Learned cloning, protein expression, protein purification and toxicity testing in insect model. • As a part of curriculum, learned molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, biophysics cell biology, fermentation biology and intellectual property rights. University of Delhi, India B.Sc. (H) Biomedical Sciences (2006-2009), 77.25% • Summer intern in IIT, Delhi during May-July, 2008. Supervised by Dr. Biswajeet Kundu on 'Cloning and Expression of bca gene”.
Learned cloning, protein expression, protein purification of His-tagged protein. Notre Dame School, Delhi • AISSCE: 2005 Percentage: 77.6% • AISCE: 2003 Percentage: 84.4% MENTORING EXPERIENCE • 2014-2019: Mentored B.tech students and supervised their projects.
