Dr. Pradyot Ranjan Jena is an Associate professor at School of Management, National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India. He has obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 2007. Before joining NITK, Surathkal in 2015, he worked as an Agriculture and Development Economist at International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), Nairobi and as Research Fellow at Institute for Environmental Economics and World Trade (IUW), Leibniz University of Hannover in Germany. Dr. Jena’s core research area of expertise is impact evaluation, food security and climate change. He led 10 national and international research projects funded by IFAD, CGIAR, Government of Australia, Indian Council of Social Science Research, Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany and Poverty, Equity and Growth Network (PEGNet). He has published 40 research papers in SCI, Web of Science and SCOPUS indexed peer reviewed journals, international conference Proceedings and book chapters. Some of the journals in which he has published are World Development, Ecological Economics, Agricultural Economics, Food Security, Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, Economic Analysis and Policy, Environment Development and Sustainability, Environmental Management and Asian Development Review. Dr. Jena has published a book on the "Impact of Economic Growth and Trade Liberalization on Air Pollution". Dr. Jena has served as a reviewer of reputed journals like World Development, Ecological Economics, Agricultural Economics, Applied Economic Perspective and Policy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Agribusiness, Environment and Development Economics, Regional Environmental Change, Food Security, Development Policy Review and , Journal of Agricultural Economics. He has won the ARER BEST ADVISER AWARD by Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association in 2016 and is the Associate Editor of the Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems and Frontiers in Climate Change. He has chaired conference sessions in Tropentag conference in Germany from 2010 to 2012.
