Jie Deng

Jie Deng presently serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Marine Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University. Within this role, he leads research initiatives focused on various aspects of vibroacoustics, including Acoustic Black Holes (ABHs), wave manipulation, energy harvesting, acoustic metamaterials, and underwater noise control. Dr. Deng holds dual doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering, having earned one from Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain) in 2020 with the distinction of 'Excellent Cum Laude,' and the other from Chongqing University (China) in 2021. Additionally, in 2020, he undertook a visiting scholar position at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA-Lyon). Dr. Deng's scholarly contributions include the authorship or co-authorship of 37 peer-reviewed journal articles and 11 conference papers. Furthermore, he actively participates in the academic community by serving as a referee for esteemed journals such as the Journal of Sound and Vibration, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, ASMS Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica, and Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics.
