Dr. Amin Akhnoukh earned his B.S. of Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt (1997), M.S. of Civil Engineering from Kansas State University, Kansas, USA (2005), and Doctorate in Construction Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska, USA (2008). Dr. Akhnoukh has 8 years of construction industry experience in National and International Construction Companies and Design Firms working in Egypt, Dubai, and the United States. In addition, he has 15 years of experience as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Construction Engineering and Management, more than 70 refereed publications and more than $2.0 million of Federal and State funding for research projects. Currently Dr. Akhnoukh works as an Associate Professor in the Construction Management Department at East Carolina University. His research interests include green construction materials, high strength concrete mix designs, and prestressed concrete applications. Dr. Akhnoukh is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute, and a Fellow of NASA and the International Road Federation. He is also a registered professional engineer in the States of Arkansas, and North Carolina, and in Egypt.
