Rahul Mohan

Dr Rahul Mohan was born in Varanasi, India and did his schooling from Varanasi, India. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degree in Geology from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He completed his Ph.D. work from NIO,Goa and was awarded Ph.D. from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Currently, he is the Group Director and Scientist at the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Goa, India. His research interests include Paleoclimatology and Paleoceanography using archives from Antarctica, Southern Ocean and the Arctic. Currently he is Member of the National Committee (India) for SCAR as also IUGS(INSA). Dr.Rahul represents India as its Alternate Delegate to Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). He is Member of the SCAR CBET Committee and is the National Coordinator for the Asian Forum for Polar Sciences. He is passionate about Outreach and International Cooperation and looks after Antarctic Operations and Science Coordination, Outreach and International Cooperation. He and his group members have published over 100 peer reviewed publications and have successfully nurtured a group which looks into multiple microfossils from the Antarctic, Arctic and the Southern ocean, as also lake records from Antarctica.
