Dr. Prabhat Kumar received his Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in Jan 2019 and is presently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Institute of Physics Czech Academy of Sciences. He is interested in the synthesis and characterization of MoO2-MoS2 and WO3-WS2 Core-Shell Nanostructured Thin Films, design and fabrication of the THz detector using a field-effect transistor, synthesis of layered materials like MoS2, PtSe2, WS2, and WSe2 and design the metamaterials using these materials to modulate the THz radiation, infrared detectors. He has designed and developed a novel method for sulfurization of transition metal oxides into sulfide and referred to as Plasma Assisted Sulfurization (PAS). The method is based on using H2S/Ar plasma. Optimized various process parameters for the synthesis of core-shell MoO2/MoS2 nanostructured thin films (NTFs) at low temperature. He has also studied the incorporation of oxygen in MoS2 by oxidation of core-shell MoO2-MoS2 nanostructures in various oxygen ambiance. An explanation is derived for the change in the structural, morphological properties of the MoO2-MoS2 core-shell nanostructured thin films.
