Prof. Dr. med. von Tempelhoff FCATH is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Perinatal Medicine, and Hemostaseology. He is the Chief of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at St. Vinzenz Hospital Hanau and Head of the Institute for Thrombosis and Coagulation Disorders in Gynecology and Obstetrics (Hausen). He absolved his medical education at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen and became a Consultant of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1996. In 1993 he received his doctorate in medicine and completed his habilitation at the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz in 2007 and was appointed extracurricular professor at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 2015. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Clinical and Applied Thrombosis / Hemostasis. His scientific focus is on hemostaseological and hemorheological disorders in women with miscarriages, preeclampsia, and thrombosis. He is a reviewer for numerous journals and, in addition to his publications and book chapters, has also contributed to international and national guidelines on coagulation and thrombosis in gynecology.
