Alaa Obeida

Alaa Abd Elrahman Obeida is currently a pediatric surgery resident at Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Alaa is the founder and president of EYouth Organization. Dr Obeida is also the executive director of MediVerse NGO and one of its founders. He was one of the members of the Egyptian State Alumni Advisory Council in US Embassy, Egypt. He is the founder and coordinator of state alumni sustainable enrichment program (ASEP). He was the Local Youth Representative (LYR) for iEARN Egypt 2011 and worked in iEARN since 2004. Dr. Obeida was featured as one of the three main speakers in the Batalden Symposium 2012 in Minnesota, USA. He was also a TEDx Damnhour Speaker in 2013 and TEDx Nahda University 2014. He was a virtual speaker in the Nobel Prize Peace Forum in 2013 that took place in Minnesota, USA. A speaker in TEDMED Live at Ain Shams University in February 2017. He has been a speaker and coordinator of many youth activities in Egypt. Dr. Obeida participated in the U.S. State Department Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) program at Temple University, Philadelphia PA in 2010. He was the head of the Egyptian delegation to iEARN International Youth Summit in Taiwan, July 2011. He won many local and international grants to apply youth events and to spread youth’s development concepts. He trained hundreds of medical students on research concepts as well as soft skills.
