Dr. Nawaz is a Geomorphologist with expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS), Spatial Decision Support Systems (SDSS), Environment Science, and Geospatial Science Teaching and Learning. Since 1993, Dr. Nawaz has worked in different universities including Punjab University in Pakistan, and the Faculty of Geoinformation Science & Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente in the Netherlands. He has vast experience and knowledge in design, development, delivery, coordination, and teaching of courses in Physical Geography, GIS, Environment Science, and Geospatial Science at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Nawaz has over 25 years of research over a broad range of issues relating to catchment management, sustainable development, sediment budget, and geospatial science teaching and learning. He has conducted multi-disciplinary research relating to geospatial science teaching and learning, and methodological research relating to erosion and sedimentation, sustainable development, and catchment management in several catchments including Darwin Harbour and Daly River catchment, Australia, Mangla Reservoir catchment, Pakistan, and Saddang Watershed, Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
