Jose Antonio Reales-Calderon

Singapore Immunology Network

Dr. Jose Antonio Reales-Calderon received his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. His PhD was about the proteomic characterization in the human and murine macrophage responses to the opportunistic pathogen C. albicans. The characterization was done using the more novel technologies existent in the proteomic field, obtaining a deep overview of how macrophages respond using intracellular but also extracellular signaling (via exosomes) to fight against the fungal infection. During the PhD, Dr. Reales-Calderon did 2 scientific visits to the University of Southern Denmark, Odense (Denmark) and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research (MIT), Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA). Currently he is a research fellow in Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He has published peer-reviewed research articles, reviews and has also presented his work to national and international scientific meetings.
