Yulia A. Desheva

Senior scientist of Virology Department, Institute of Experimental Medicine, St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. Since 2013 she has been the Professor of the Department of Fundamental Medicine Problems and Medical Technologies, Faculty of Stomatology, St. Petersburg State University. Her expertise is live influenza vaccines preparation, development of immunization schemes for high-risk individuals, and evaluating the role of neuraminidase antibodies in influenza infection and vaccination. In 2001 and 2003-2004 she worked as a guest researcher at the US Centers for Disease Control and prevention. She has published 46 papers in local and international peer-reviewed journals. She was awarded by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Federal Agency for Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation (nomination for the 100 Best Inventions for 2012).
