Jack Jia-Sheng Huang
Dr. Jack Jia-Sheng Huang is a Senior Scientist at Source Photonics (West Hills, CA, USA) working on high-speed lasers and photodiodes for next-generation optical networks. He also serves as the Senior Manager overseeing the laser transmitter product R&D of Source Photonics Wafer Fab in Taiwan. He received his B.S. degree in physics from National Taiwan University (Taipei, Taiwan) in 1992, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from UCLA in 1996 and 1997, respectively. During 1992-1993, he was a research assistant at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, studying surface physics of gallium ion beam in ultra-high vacuum. From 1997-2000, Jack was a Member of Technical Staff at Lucent Technologies, Bell Labs. From 2000-2003, he was a scientist at Lucent Technologies, Optoelectronics Group. From 2003-2015, he was a senior R&D manager at Emcore. Dr. Jack Huang has over 80 publications in international journals and conferences. He also holds 6 US patents and 1 UK patent. He is the author of the book “Environmental Engineering of Photonic and Electronic Reliabilities” (Scholars’ Press, 2017) and one book chapter “Reliability of optoelectronics” (Woodhead Publishing, 2015). He is a member of Marquis’ Who is Who (2006-2017) and IEEE; he also serves as reviewers for international journals including IEEE Electron Device Letters, IEEE Transactions Electron Devices, Microelectronics Reliability, Thin Solid Films, Applied Surface Physics and Optics & Lasers Technology.
