Silesian University of Technology Poland

In October 1994 I started stationary MSc studies on the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy at Silesian University of Technology – Department of Management and Production Engineering. In 1999 I graduated with honors with a degree of MSc from specialization Metallic Materials. Directly after graduation, I started post-graduate stationary Ph.D. studies on the faculty of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy at the Silesian University of Technology. My scientific and research activity is focused on the structural analysis of the phenomena occurring in metals and their alloys during deformation processes, in particular its focus on research of austenitic steels, alloys on intermetallic phase matrix from Fe-Al system and Al alloys. In March 2005, I defended my Ph.D. thesis entitled “Influence of hot deformation parameters on the structure and properties of the Fe-38Al alloy”. The Faculty Board of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy at the Silesian University of Technology decided to grant me a Ph.D. in Science in the field of Materials Engineering and give my Ph.D. thesis honorable mention. In the course of my research, I took part in the conduction of research projects connected with alloys from the Fe-Al system which were: PBU-7 2006 (3 T08A 053 30) “Influence of structure on the deformability of alloys on ordered intermetallic phase matrix of Fe-Al system”. Since 2009 I was the project manager, PBU-49/RM-7/2009 (N N507 270436) “Analysis of dependencies between deformation process and structure construction in alloys on intermetallic phase matrix of Fe-Al system” which was completed in 2011. Since 2010 I am the project manager and the substantive coordinator on behalf of the Silesian University of Technology FSB-71/RM3//2010 “Advanced Materials and Technologies of their manufacturing – within task 5.7. Elaboration on technological basis of manufacturing and processing of new functional materials based on Al with the use of intermetallic phases”, implemented in a consortium of seven scientific institutions with Institute of Non-Ferrous Materials as coordinator. In 2011 I got Rector's Award second degree for conducting a major research project. My engagement in those research projects gave me the basis to acquire broad knowledge on methods of manufacture various materials, analysis their primary structure, heat treatment, various plastic deformation processes, and selecting parameters in order to obtain products with desired properties. I am the author and co-author of 66 publications that were published in both national and international conference materials as well as in national professional periodicals, concerning research on the issues of plastic working and analysis of the structure and properties of steels and alloys produced by plastic deformation methods. As a scientist actively collaborating with many research centers, national and international ie: TU Bergakademie Freiberg, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, University of Silesia, AGH University of Science and Technology, Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy. During my research I a promoter of more than 50 works of engineering and graduate. Since 2007 I am a member of the Polish Materials Society and since 2010 the International Asociation AIST Association for Iron and Steel Technology. I am a regular reviewer for the International Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (IF 1,71), Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Steel Research Int., Archives of Metallurgy and Materials and Polish Journal of Hutnik - Wiadomości Hutnicze. I am currently employed as a lecturer at the Silesian University of Technology in the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy in the Department of Materials Science. Until now I was the promoter of 51 master theses and 1 Ph.D. thesis. Employment (1) Sort
