Angel Serrano-Aroca studied Chemical Engineering at the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia. He was awarded the European Ph.D. degree after a stay at the University of South-Paris XI under the Marie Curie programme. He has extensive research experience and has also worked in the private sector. He speaks five languages: Spanish, Valencian, English, Italian and French. He is currently Professor of Bioengineering and Head of the Applied and Technological Science Department at the Universidad Catolica de Valencia San Vicente Martir (UCV). He has 42 publications, 3 book chapters and 1 book. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator of the Bioengineering and Cellular Therapy group at the UCV. He has been a co-founding member of the spin-off company Metis Biomaterials SL.
