Edisson Tello Camacho

Dr. Sc. Chemist and Masters in Chemical Science from the National University of Colombia, Colombia, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. In 2013 he received his Master’s degree in Chemical Science from the National University of Colombia with an emphasis on natural products, bioprospecting, and organic synthesis. In 2012 and 2013 he developed a research internship in the synthesis of natural products at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at La Sabana University, Colombia and supports the Bioscience Ph.D. program at the same university. He is also the leader of the Bioprospecting Research Group at La Sabana University, where he focuses his research on marine natural products chemistry, searching for cytotoxic and antimicrobial compounds and working in organic synthesis. He has published nearly 15 scientific papers and one chapter dealing with his scientific research results in high impact journals. Finally, he has been awarded the “Early Career Chemist Award” from the American Chemical Society (ACS) in 2015, a Laureate Ph.D. Thesis in 2013 and Meritorious Magister Thesis in 2008.
