Jalal Nazarzadeh was born in Tehran, Iran in August 1964. He received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the AmirKabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1990, 1992 and 1998, respectively. Since Feb. 1998, he has joined the faculty of engineering, electrical engineering department, Shahed University, Tehran, Iran. He has taught postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in electrical machines, nonlinear phenomena in power electronics and drives and optimal control theory. At present, his interest areas include modeling, analysis and control of electrical machines and drivers, spectral theory in nonlinear optimal control systems and nonlinear phenomena in power electronics systems. He published 23 journal and 39 conference papers. He is vice-president in academic affairs and graduate studies in Shahed University.
