Soumalya Mukherjee obtained his M.Sc. degree in Zoology from West Bengal State University, India and secured the First rank. He was selected for DST INSPIRE Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Calcutta, India. Dr. Mukherjee published several full length research articles in the peer reviewed scientific journals and books of International repute. He has presented his research findings in various International/ National conferences and symposia. He has been actively engaged in research in the area of immunotoxicological effects of environmental pollutants on the terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates. He was formerly engaged in teaching as an Assistant Professor of Zoology in the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, University of Kalyani at postgraduate level. Dr. Mukherjee is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Zoology in the Brahmananda Keshab Chandra College under West Bengal State University, India.
