Pouya Jamshidi

Pouya Jamshidi is currently a medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College. In 2009, Mr. Jamshidi received his B.Sc. in cognitive science with specialization in neuroscience from UC San Diego, where he was awarded the University’s Outstanding Graduating Senior. Mr. Jamshidi has extensive research background in neuroscience and has worked with many distinguished neuroscientists including, Drs. Mark Tuszynski, Nicholas Spitzer, and Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel. Mr. Jamshidi can count amongst his accomplishments some of the UC San Diego’s most impressive awards, as well as honors from prestigious organizations such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In 2008, Pouya was one of only 30 Scholars from across the U.S. to participate in the HHMI EXROP Program. In addition, Mr. Jamshidi is the recipient of a number of highly competitive awards including the Amgen Research Scholarship in Biomedical Sciences, Chancellor’s Scholarship Award, and Warren College Outstanding Undergraduate Research Scholarship. In 2012, Mr. Jamshidi was the first UCSD medical student who was awarded the highly competitive American Association of Neurological Surgeon (AANS) Summer Research Fellowship.
