Rajiv Lochan

Rajiv Lochan is Senior Fellow in HPB & Liver Transplant surgery at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He completed basic training from the University of Mysore and subsequently worked as a Research Fellow in Newcastle where he developed his research interests into the role of DNA damage repair mechanisms in the development of HPB cancers. He subsequently completed Higher Specialist Training in General, HPB and Abdominal Transplantation Surgery in 2012. His clinical research interests include improving outcomes from the management of Liver, pancreatic and retroperitoneal tumours, Liver Transplantation surgery and Acute pancreatitis. In the middle of 2013, he is due to commence a Fellowship at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Hong Kong furthering his interest in HCC management and Living Donor Liver Transplantation.
