Małgorzata Komorowska
Małgorzata Anna Komorowska was born in Kraków-Poland and educated at the Jagiellonian University. She received a Ph.D. in Chemistry in Academy of Mining and Metalurgy, Kraków. Since that time she has been working at Wrocław University of Technology, where she is currently professor of chemistry at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Instrumentation. Since 1973, her research interests have concentrated on application of different spectroscopic techniques to study of biological and model membranes. She has authored numerous papers on application of EPR spectroscopy, spin labeling of membranes , for monitoring their structure and effects of different factors on them. Currently she has worked on the method of blood protection during extracorporeal circulation and on molecular mechanism of action of the Near Infrared Radiation on biological materials: blood cells, proteins, amino acids and DNA. She was visiting scientist at the university of Kentucky, Free University of Berlin and Technical University of Lille. She has been teaching chemistry and application of spectroscopic methods in live sciences.
