Dr. Nagraj G. Huilgol, Chief, Division of Radiation Oncology at Nanavati Hospital finished his diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics in Mumbai. He then finished his M.D. in Radiation Oncology from All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He joined Tata Memorial Hospital as Senior Registrar after which he worked briefly as assistant professor at Kidwai Memorial Institution of Oncology at Banglore. He later Joined Nanavati Hospital as Chief of Radiation Oncology. He has served on various government bodies including Atomic Energy Regulatory Board for licensing radiation equipments. He is founder member of Society for Cancer Research and Communication. He is also the member of American Therapeutic Radiation Oncologist, Radiation Research Society, USA, and European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology. He is the President of Indian Association of Hyperthermic Oncology and Medicine and Joint Secretary of Indian Society of Oncology. He has nearly 100 published papers published in national and international journals and, edited three books related to cancer. He has been elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences. He is involved in clinical research and bench research in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Powai as well as the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Bombay. He is currently investigating the role of hyperthermia in the treatment of head & neck cancer & HIV. The trials are being supported by Indian council of medical research.
