Thomas Newe

Thomas Newe (BEng., PhD, MIEEE) was born in Ireland in 1967. He received his Honours Degree in Computer Engineering in 1991. Following this he worked as a software engineer with MAC, Ireland. He was awarded his PhD in 2003 from the University of Limerick for work on Formal Verification Logics for use in security protocol design. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department on Electronic and Computer Engineering in the University of Limerick and a member of the Optical Fibre Sensors Research Centre. He leads the research team in the Wireless Sensor Networks research group. Currently his major areas of research include: Wireless Sensor Networks, Operating Systems, Cryptography/Encryption Algorithms, Data Security, Network Security and Formal Verification Methods.
