Gražyna Simha Martynková

Technical University of Ostrava Czech Republic

Gražyna Simha Martynková an associate professor at Nanotechnology Centre of VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, got her M.Sc. degree in Processes Engineering and her Ph.D. in Chemical and Energy Processing at VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava. In 2008 she habilitated in Chemical Metallurgy at VŠB-TUO. Her area of focus is on research and development of composites and nanocomposites based on layered materials, especially natural carbon and clay minerals. Using X-ray Powder Diffraction methods she characterizes carbon materials, friction composites, nanocomposites with polymeric and ceramic matrices with the special functional fillers. The experimentaldata generated is utilized for molecular modeling of the designed materials. She lectures on materials science and nanotechnology at her university and is a doctoral supervisor of students pursuing their She had authored and co-authored 35 scientific articles in professional impacted journals, and another 50 articles and conference proceedings. She is a co-author of 4 chapters in books and 4 monographies on composite materials. In 2007 she was awarded the rector’s prize for “Great results in R n’D” at her university VŠB-TUO. She is a co-organizer of international scientific conference NanoOstrava.
