Dr Samiya Razvi obtained her medical degree and Diploma in Child Health from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, India. She has experience in clinical research at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi and in basic science research at the Department of Clinical Immunology, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. Dr Razvi trained in Pediatrics at Long Island College Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center, New York. Following residency, she completed a 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian, Columbia University, New York. She obtained Board Certification in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics and subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Pulmonology, American Board of Pediatrics. Her keen interest in clinical research led her to pursue and obtain a Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Patient Oriented Research Track in 2007, from the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, New York. Dr Razvi worked as Staff Pediatric Pulmonologist at Children’s Hospital at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, where in addition to clinical responsibilities, she actively participated in resident and trainee teaching and as a mentor in research. She was awarded the Teacher of the Year, 2008 at the Pediatric Institute, Children’s Hospital at Cleveland Clinic. Currently, she is Consultant Pediatric Pulmonologist at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills,Hyderabad, India. She continues to be involved in teaching and mentoring post-graduate trainees and is the Chairman of the Thesis Committee for post-graduateresearch. Dr Razvi’s areas of clinical interest are pediatric asthma, lung disease of prematurity, cystic fibrosis and pediatric flexible bronchoscopy.
