Josafat Ezquerra-Brauer

Josafat Marina Ezquerra Brauer is a chemist from the Universidad de Sonora (1986), with a M.Sc. in Food Science degree from Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (1988), Ph.D. degree in Marine Biotechnology from Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas del Noroeste (1997), and also she made two postdoctoral short stays one at Universidad de Almeria, Spain (2001) and the last one at Oregon State University (2007). She is a research professor at the University of Sonora, and she was Dean of the Food Science and Technology Graduate Program (2006-2008). She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI-II). She obtained the National Award in Food Science and Technology by the Mexican Chapter of IFT (ATAM) in 1988. She was Pacific Fisheries Technologists President during 2006-2007. She has published 34 papers in international journals, 3 book chapters and directed 13 graduate and 16 undergraduate theses. Her research interests are in fish quality, postmortem biochemistry and innovative fish processing.
