Anan Liu
Dr. Anan Liu is the Director of the Institute of Television and Image Information, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. He is currently leading a research team with 4 professors (Yuting Su, Lanjun Wang, and others), 8 associate professors ( Jing Zhang, Weizhi Nie, Jing Liu, Dan Song, Ning Xu, and others), 2 assistant professors (Wenhui Li, one of the two), 10+ Ph.D. students, and 90+ master students. He has reached impressive achievements in multimedia content analysis, retrieval, generation, and communication with continuous contributions to cross-media representation learning and understanding, human action recognition, 3D model retrieval and classification, social network analysis, bio-medical image analysis, marine big data analysis by developing algorithms, building new datasets, organizing contests, and building benchmarks. He has published 100+ papers in the first-tier venues. He holds 40+ Chinese and U.S. patents. Many novel techniques have been widely utilized for multimodal big data analysis for social networks, smart cities, and maritime space.
