IntechOpen editors, Dr. Antonio Morata and Dr. Iris Moira, both from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, were awarded with a Special Mention by The International Organisation of Vine and Wine at the 2020 OIV Awards.

The International OIV Jury, composed of the scientific and technical elite from several OIV Member Countries, awarded 19 OIV Awards and 10 OIV Special Mentions. The winners were selected from a list of 30 nominated publications comprising 27 books and 3 websites.

Advances in Grape and Wine Biotechnology, edited by Dr. Morata and Dr. Iris, is a collection of fifteen chapters that addresses different issues related to the technological and biotechnological management of vineyards and winemaking and focuses on recent advances in the field of viticulture with interesting and relevant topics and was honored with a Special Mention in Enology.

Dr. Morata has personally thanked the more than 60 professors and researchers from reputable institutions across eleven countries and four continents who participated in the book. “It has been a pleasure for Iris and me to coordinate this great project,” he said to all of the authors.

This is the second time Dr. Morata has been recognized by OIV, last year he won the Enology category with his submission. We are proud of our editors and all contributing authors and their important research work.
