IntechOpen Improves Sustainability Credentials With DHL's Go Green Climate Neutral Services

07 December 2022

IntechOpen and DHL have been partners for over a decade. Aside from the free access online, all IntechOpen books can be ordered as hard copies and are  shipped worldwide. Books are printed on demand and  shipped in signature packaging via DHL Express. Today, we are proud to announce that we have adopted the Go Green Climate neutral shipping program, whose main objective is to reduce and avoid the emission of greenhouse gases and local air pollutants.

As a UN SGD Publishers Compact signatory, IntechOpen advocates sustainability through the publishing program and our overall business operations and activities. Adopting the Go Green program allows us to improve our sustainability credentials and support the fight against the climate crisis by providing our customers with climate neutral shipping options and sharing transparent figures on our carbon footprint impact.

"Since 2011, our efficient Print-on-Demand (POD) services have positioned sustainability and environmental responsibility among IntechOpen’s top priorities. The opportunity to improve our logistic operations' environmental efficiency with DHL’s climate-neutral Go Green services is therefore aligned with our business philosophy. From now on, IntechOpen POD shipments will be labelled as climate neutral, and we will receive an annual certificate stating the amount we compensated for greenhouse gas emissions" - said Jelena Cevizovic, Head of Logistics and Print.

“GoGreen is a DHL, worldwide environmental protection programme which demonstrates our strong sense of environmental responsibility and commitment to supporting our customers, to grow sustainably. Its main objective is to reduce and avoid the emission of greenhouse gasses and local air pollutants. As a global company we are committed to joining forces with customers to facilitate green supply chains, climate-neutral shipping and carbon footprint reporting. Together we can grow sustainably and protect our future progression to protect our Planet“ -  said Snježana Poljanek, Sales and Marketing manager at DHL Express.

Go Green is part of DHL’s wider goal known as ‘Mission2050: Zero Emissions’, which is DHL’s commitment to reduce all our logistics-related emissions to net-zero by the year 2050.
