Dana Liana Pusta
Prof. Dana Liana Pusta is a Professor of Animal Genetics, Molecular Genetics, and Hereditary diseases in domestic animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She received her BSc, in 1996 graduating from FVM in Cluj-Napoca, her Ph.D. title in 2005 in veterinary medicine at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, and her MSc title in Economy of Natural Resources, University Babes-Bolyai (UBB) Cluj-Napoca in 2007. Since 2018 she has been a Ph.D. coordinator at the same university. Prof. Pusta published more than 150 papers in international and national peer-reviewed journals in the field of animal genetics and physiology. She took part in 2 practical stages, one in Hobro, Denmark (1995) and the other in Montluçon, France (2002). She had 8 TS grants within the Erasmus frame in FVM in Europe. Prof. Pusta conducted 2 research grants and was involved in other 11 grants. She is a co-author of 2 patents and 3 registered trademarks, as well as an EAEVE evaluator and has participated in the evaluation team of 11 FVM in Europe. In 2023 she became an ECOVE member of EAEVE and is also a permanent expert in the C9 Commission of ARACIS belonging to ENQUA (since 2019). She is a member of 10 national (all internationally affiliated) and international societies, such as the European Cytogeneticists Association, the European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association, the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education, and the Societatea Română de Genetică Medicală affiliated with the European Society of Human Genetics. Prof. Pusta is a member of 2 editorial boards and is a scientific reviewer of 12 journals. She was awarded different distinctions, such as a diploma and medal for the progress of veterinary medicine, a Silver medal for a patent, a Best biotechnological product award, and an Honorary medal from FVM Cluj-Napoca.
